Vector painting had only three advantages to bitmap, and maintains those three. Traditionally in digital, Text and Framing(including comic panels) are done in Vector multipage files(comic framing, brochures, and other similar styles) because of the advantages of vector are considered most beneficial in this way.Īll artwork that isn't logo or large printed poster design was almost always done in bitmap. PS: OC6 currently has a few features which have been locked away during beta (most likely for security reasons), which weren't put back in due to a rather rushed release. It's actually around $50 through their site, and you don't need to depend on Steam. It's also cheaper to buy through there, since they charge you in Yen, which had it's value plummet as of late (they do mention a dollar price, but they still charge you in Yen for the transaction).

It will also support your Wacom tablet just fine. It also has LOADS more options than SAI for image editing, while keeping the UI clean and easy to understand. OC Doesn't support vectors yet, thus no editing (though I personally don't see that much use for it, by the time I'm done editing one line I would've made 5 new ones instead), but I color my lines all the time, and effortlessly so (just lock the layer's alpha, and then do whatever you want), so at least for that you're covered. Other than Sai, Anime Studio Pro, and Corel Draw, the idea of painting with Vector has not been a topic people desired until more recently because of the limitation in image editing when using Vector.
